TIM CAMPBELL
At school Tim excelled at swimming and athletics competing at state level, while discovering his love for the performing arts through variety nights and the school band.
After touring with the Sydney Schools Drama Ensemble in Year 11, Tim took the serious step of moving to Melbourne to attend the Victorian College of the Arts. On his return to Sydney the following year, he developed his craft differently by doing the odd TV job and singing with a band called the Squid Munchies, before landing a job as a performer at Australia’s Wonderland and Kaos Theatre Restaurant.
Tim has spent most of his career however in front of the camera and is mostly known from his role as Dan Baker on Home & Away. Before this he starred in Big Sky, plus many guest roles including Wildside, White Collar Blue, Always Greener, Water Rats, Police Rescue, Snobs and the Australian feature film Angst. He also appeared in the American series of Beatmaster and The Lost World as well as American movies The Great Raid, with Benjamin Bratt and Joseph Fiennes and Dynasty Behind The Scenes.
Tim has also been a presenter on Sydney Weekender over the last 2 years, and has just finished production as co-host of Discover Tasmania for Southern Cross Television.
As a singer, Tim has performed in various productions around Australia, Asia and the Middle East, including his memorable appearances at Carols In The Domain, Perth Telethon and Good Friday Appeal in Melbourne.
He also hotfooted it on Seven’s Dancing with the Stars in early 2007, coming third in the series.
Tim is about to take Australian theatre by storm. He has left Dan Baker behind and has re-kindled his love and passion for the stage. Tim has just completed a season of RENT in Western Australia playing the role of Roger before moving into this dynamic role.
In between lead roles in musical theatre Tim can also be seen as the host on the Seven Network’s brand new National Bingo Night.
Tim is very excited to share the stage with these legends of Rock and Roll. He knows this production and the story of the wild one will make you want to Shout!
